We are a Fall River based owned catering company offering a wide range of catering services for both corporate and private events.
Our Story
In November of 2020 Jay Lewis, a Fall River fire captain, and Carla DiCorpo purchased a small building at 609 Locust Street Fall River. Notwithstanding the widespread COVID-19 outbreak, Jay and Carla decided to take a chance on starting their own catering company.
Jay is originally from Raynham and attended Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical School in Taunton where he studied culinary arts. Cooking has always been close to his heart, despite his decision to serve in the Marines for four years rather than pursue a full-time job in food service.
Growing up in Fall River, Carla says she worked in the kitchen at two well-known bistros in Providence; XO Café and Circe Restaurant & Bar. She had also been the event manager and wedding coordinator at Bittersweet Farm Restaurant and Tavern in Westport for five years until the summer of 2021.
Since then they have successfully provided catering services for weddings, corporate events, special occasions and private events. Green Jar Cocina, their food truck, is a mainstay at both public and private gatherings in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The driving force behind Green Jar is our love for what food does on so many levels. It fosters creativity, it brings happiness and people together, it creates family traditions and it makes memories.
There is no right or wrong way to make a meal. Food comes from the heart and Green Jar always will put that love first. GJC was named after our three children; Gavin, Jackson and Colton. They are the motivation and heart behind everything we do.
We do not categorize ourselves as one culinary style or another. We want to learn what is important to our individual customers and execute it for their special event in a way that will make them remember that incredible day every time they eat that meal in the future.
